Chapter Two
“What is it? Why are you disturbing us with your noise.
“Subuhanallahi! Subuhanallahi!!! Subuhanallahi!!
“Which one is Subuhanallahi keep quiet and tell us what is wrong with you.
“Taiwo let him be. You can see that he is not in his right mind. He must be going through frightful dream.” Timothy said.
Muhammad stood up and sat in-between Timothy and Taiwo. He look at the entrance again and didn’t see anything. He was shivering, pointing at the door.
“Door? Ehn ehn, what happened to the door?.” Taiwo asked.
“I…I…I saw….I saw…I…saw…”
“Guy, how far, are you okay at all. Which one is I saw I saw that you are stuttering. Do you want to scare us or what?.
“I saw a strange woman. Like a strange person, dressed all over and…and her hands her dripping down bloo.dy. She shines her teeth devilishly.
Taiwo hit his head out of control to bring him back to reality if he has been dreaming. But Muhammad held his cloth tight instead in fear.
“Muhammed, it’s okay. It’s okay, don’t be afraid. There’s no cause for alarm. You should have the believe that there’s no power that can harm us. Don’t let the frightfulness of what you said you saw gives way to fear in your life. You only saw it but it can’t harm you. Do you believe in what I say?
“Believe in what? I felt the person hand on my face. Like (demonstrating it) it was going like this.
“I think you are hallucinating based on how you have been complaining of hit liking this house. You better have it at the back of your mind that this house is where we will live no matter what. Or do you know elsewhere that you will go and camp?
“this is not even the matter of camping elsewhere, but the fact that I saw what seems scaring not quite long really scared me.
“Don’t be scared. Like I said don’t give room for fear into you.
“Let him be scared na. At least he is the only one that saw the said creature so let him deal with it. Oya, go back to your space.
“I swear Taiwo, you’re a wicked person. So you want me to go back there when I am still scared. You are very wicked!
“So am the one that should sleep where you said you saw the evil creature. Abeg come back to your space or else I will be forced to push you back.
“Its okay. You don’t need to fight over space. Muhammad you can come to my space.
“Then who will now stay in his space?” Taiwo asked.
“I will.” Timothy answered.
“Thank you. Thank you very much Timothy. You are the only true person that love me.
Taiwo hissed at him and backed him as he lie down. Muhammad hugged him from behind but he pushed him away from him.
NEXT DAY
They all get ready and headed out to the school for resumption. When they got there the proprietress called them and told them the classes they will be taking. They were happy except Paulina and Taiwo who were not satisfied with the assigned class giving to them. They were introduced to the pupils on the assembly before going into their class. Mirabelle and Elizabeth are the only ones that have class teacher, so they were under them. When Paulina entered the classroom, she look at all the pupils and hissed in her mind.
“Good morning ma, we are happy to see you. God bless you, Amen.
“Thank you.” She answered standing in front of them. “My name is Mistress Paulina and I will be your class teacher for now. I will also be teaching you Social studies.
The pupils clapped their hands joyfully.
“You are not beautiful.” A pupils at the back seat shouted and the rest of them laughed.
“Who said that!”. She asked in a harsh tone and none of them raises their hands. “I said who just shouted that I am not beautiful.
“We don’t know.” The front row girls answered.
Paulina walked through their midst to see if she could find the person who said it.
“You stand up, who said it??
“I don’t know.” He answered lying.
“Are you children daring me or what! I said who said that statement.
“Aunty, you better calm down your voice if you don’t want it to be taking.
Paulina turned back surprisingly to look at the person who said it and yet she didn’t see the person.
“Is like this children are crazy ooo what is all these nonsense.” She muttered in her mind turning here and there.
“I will go out right now and report you to the proprietress. Just imagine, my first day here and you children are talking out of no manners.
She walked to the entrance and suddenly she missed a step and her leg got twisted a little.
“yehh yehh Jesus Christ!”. She yelled silently in pains trying to balance herself. She dragged her leg out to the proprietress office while the children laughed her.
“Are you okay?." The proprietress asked.
“Ma, I am not okay. My leg, my leg just dislocated on my way to report to you.
“How come???
